IN YOUR 5 PARAGRAPH PERSUASIVE ESSAY:

- Take a stance in your title (show attitude / creativity)
- Have at least 5 sentences per paragraph
- Underline your THESIS & 2 NEW WORDS
- Start off with a "hook", an attention grabbing sentence!
- Put your thesis as the last sentence in Paragraph 1
- Do not use the word - "I". You will sound more like an unquestionable expert that way.
- Do not use contractions eg. don't, I'm, shouldn't (too informal / casual) You want to sound professional.
- Avoid Repetition. Do not use the same word more than 8x! Repetition is distracting. It makes you sound unprepared.
- Do not use "because" or "interesting" in your thesis
- Include at least 3 facts / statistics
- Make it persuasive, you are arguing to convince me to agree w/ your thesis!
- Use Transition Words
- Create an effective TITLE
- Have your Good Copy Buddy Checked. (to confirm it's good enough to submit)
